Ten Ways to Green Your Workplace

  1. Reduce the number of emails you print and print only the pages you need.
  2. Use dry erase boards for notes instead of sticky notes.
  3. Reclaim paper clips when thinning out old files during spring cleaning.
  4. Turn off power strips when leaving the office or get automatic switching surge suppressor.
  5. Telecommute a few days a week or more.
  6. Before recycling, reuse the back of printed sheets for notes.
  7. If your office has the means to wash them, use real dishes, glasses and coffee mugs instead of disposable.
  8. Move desks closer to windows to take advantage of natural light for reading.
  9. Use bulk instead of individually-wrapped coffee sweeteners and stirrers.
  10. Finally, the obvious... use recycled paper and CFL bulbs throughout the office.
